The concert:

There are moments in the life of a writer when words cannot possibly live up to an experience that said person had just gone through. What appeared to be on paper a rather normal or maybe even conventional band, turned out as a twister, which would wreak havoc upon anything in its path. Psychedelic rock / alternative rock had been the innocent way Tweak Bird appeared on the homepage of the location klub_k (part of the Karlstorbahnhof). While the descriptors are definitely pointing in the right direction, the idea of “rock” in the sense of how many people would actually interpret it, is in no way close to the truth. Despite a rather small line-up – two musicians: one guitar/vocals & one drums/vocals – it never felt that anyone or anything would have been missing. From the first second onward they delivered nothing but a full aggressive blast. So, while I anticipated the evening to be somewhat chilling and weird, it had actually been nowhere close to this.

One small side note: it may be best to check this band and their music before going to one of their concert.

The sound system did its part to increase the level of the performance. Not only guitar amps, also a bass one provided the guitarist with a surprising amount of power, while the drummer gave the impression of attempting to destroy the kit through this powerful play. With distorted (“psychedelic”) vocals on top of it – impossible to understand anything – and some amount of manipulation of the strings, the band delivered one barrage after another. Calm moments, breaks or some nice sweet interludes were nowhere to be found. Energy on the highest level, brutal, fast and aggressive from the first second onwards, this what the great performance of Tweak Bird on that evening had been like. I have no freaking idea what happened during their time on stage, I have no recollection of the riffs or anything else of the band, but what I do know is that I definitely enjoyed the performance from second one and until the end.

Sadly, the location had been poorly visited: 30-40 attendees. Seriously, the minutes that lead up to the start of the concert were loaded with confusion about the lack of fans and whether those would actually remain on their seats next to the window. Aside from this, klub_k seems to be a good location for such stuff, especially as the fans can be close to the band and the stage is not up in the sky. Also the prices for beverages are good.
